It's not exactly a parents dream to have their kid to aspire to ski 120 days a year, but I was wired that way. The skiing lifestyle came with obvious and unexpected sacrifices. I ended up trying to make my living immersed in my passion and trying to make gear that made me dryer and warmer on skis. I wanted it all but didn’t have the money to buy the finest performance gear. Instead, I made my own after scraping together enough money to buy a sewing machine. In the early days, I threw a mattress on the cutting room floor.
I made clothing for the days when the weather didn't shine. When the wind howled, the snow blew sideways and moisture was the enemy. I was inspired to make gear that worked and start my own company to share my passion for comfort and the outdoors.
Headquartered in the mountains of Vermont — for over 30 years now — we've worked each season to build better outerwear from the latest fabrics, constructions, technologies and styling. Our goal is not only to craft jackets that not only kept you warm and dry, but looked great on the slopes, the backyard, the city streets, or wherever your cold weather adventures (or non-adventures) take you.
